Priceless

Few things in life are priceless, but last weekend falls at the top of my list. I got to go home to El Dorado and introduce Max to my Mam-ma. He was so good on the trip down there, he slept almost the entire time and when he wasn't asleep, his precious big sister and George entertained him. Yes, my first road trip after baby and I loaded up a 6 week old, a dog and a seven year old to drive 5 hours in a small purple egg. I've never been a worrier though and the trip was perfect. Even if I had needed to stop every 30 minutes, it would have been worth it. I enjoyed my time there so much, it was too much fun staying at my sisters, visiting with my mother and father and especially getting to see our other special family members. Tyler and Eric stayed behind in Farmington for baseball practice.

Abbi stayed in El Dorado all week and Max and I have been busy, well, I have been busy. My one week to not have to get ready and I have filled it up. We drove back Monday, Tuesday Tyler had baseball practice (he was awesome of course), Wednesday I had a work gathering and Thursday I had a work gathering. Needless to say it is Friday and I have been in my PJs all day. Wednesday was bitter sweet. I had to say so long to my friend Katie who isn't going to be working with me anymore, but I got to see friends and introduce them to John Maxwell. Thursday was really fun. Our team from work got together and I left Max behind at home. A solid 2 hours of big people time, I needed it. It also helped me realize going back to work might actually be a little fun, I do miss my buddies and using my brain.
Max has been doing much better with his napping this week. My brilliant sister laid him on his tummy for a nap while we were in El Dorado and he slept excellent. All naps this week have been on his pallet in the floor on his tummy and he loves it. He will actually go to sleep on his own if I lay him down there. So much better than being confined to the couch holding him during all his naps. I am getting to update this blog without a baby in my lap and I might fit in lunch before he awakes, yeah! Pictures below are just of Max, Abbi is gone and Tyler isn't big on the camera... Off to the kitchen, we are blessed.

Easter Eggs, Putt-Putt and Good Food

The Saturday before Easter was a fun filled adventurous day. Eric went to a weight meet in Russellville, Tyler was too tired to get up so he stayed home, late night reading caught up to him. By the end of the day he might have been wishing he had gone. We all packed up after lunch and headed to the Easter Egg hunt at Abbi's school that our church was putting on. When we got there, the line was going all the way down the sidewalk wrapping around her school, it looked like the whole city had shown up. We waited in anticipation for the egg hunt, over 10,000 eggs had been hidden on the playground, yippee! As the time grew closer to the hunt, the crowd of kids and parents turned more into a mob. I think there might of been rumors of money hidden in the eggs, I can't imagine the excitement being about the tootsie rolls and chocolate eggs that were really hidden inside. Parents were jockeying their kids for position on the starting line, giving detailed instructions on how to gather the most eggs and planning their route. Finally, the time was upon us and Abbi went about 1 foot from me, gathered up about 18 eggs and said I am done, lets go play putt-putt. I think the mob had frightened her a bit. Her exact words were those people were like monsters. You see, we almost hadn't made it to the egg hunt to begin with. Before leaving the house she made me promise they weren't going to count the eggs to see who won. She would have no part in any egg competition. Quite the opposite from Tyler who would compete with anyone over anything. The day was beautiful and warm though and our praise team reached about a thousand people with their music about the real reason for the holiday.

After the Easter egg fun we headed to play putt-putt. It was so much fun and so pretty outside. Max slept the entire time in his mommy sack. Don't panic, not the recalled sling, the carrier that looks like a back pack that goes on my tummy. Tyler gave Abbi a handicap of their age difference so they ended up in a tie. Thank the Lord!

Easter Sunday church was wonderful and then we went to Ruby Tuesdays for a delicious meal. Not close to being at Mammas, but at least we were all together. I am heading down this weekend though, can't wait another minute to be with all the fam. Ready or not, here we come! Get some extra sleep tonight Brandi and Chuck, you'll need your reserves.
We are so blessed.
Check out the pictures below, yes, Max is dressed like an Easter bunny!

Big People, Yeah!

Thursday I got to go eat lunch with friends from work. It was so fun to sit and talk with adults! Max seemed to enjoy getting held by all the pretty ladies. I enjoyed seeing friends but I must say I am not anxious to get back in the rat race. Give me a few more weeks though and I may be ready for some more brain activity, not that playing with a newborn isn't stimulating. Eric made a funny the other day. I told him it was going to be hard to go back to work and he said, "aren't you tired of sitting around here all day. All you moms out there are laughing hysterically I'm sure. I do sit around every 2-3 hours feeding him, but there is the frantic rush in between to try and get the house picked up, clothes washed, errands run, get in a little exercise, Abbi picked up and entertained not to mention the many attempts just to get ready. Oh well, I am sure he will get tired of sitting around all summer when he has the three kiddos at home while Mommy goes back to work :).
Max is smiling for real now, I have to act really silly which isn't that much of a challenge and he will give me a big grin! He is in his little bunny outfit today and we are all going on an Easter Egg hunt. I'll update as soon as possible, which might be a couple of days, I have a lot of sitting around to do. Love you honey.
We are blessed.
